How you can help get out the vote!
“Volunteers make everything we do possible. Volunteers participate in Voter Registration Events, help organize our programs and forums, speakers and our Annual Legislative Breakfast.”
Voter Registration Drives
Join us at voter registration events and help strengthen our democracy. Volunteers register voters and provide essential civic information in the community.
In 2024, our volunteer efforts made a real difference. Voter turnout increased from 27% to 48% in the districts we canvassed—proof that voter registration works. Make an impact, one neighborhood at a time.

Attend an Event
The LWV of the Syracuse Metro Area hosts a series of monthly and annual events. These are a great way to get out and meet other volunteers and learn about what we do at the local level.
For most of the year we host a monthly Lunch and Learn where members and the public are invited to learn about a variety of local and timely topics. Some past topics have included Ranked Choice Voting, Mis- and Disinformation, and the League’s Unite and Rise 8.5 Campaign, and speakers including the Executive Director of the LWVNYS, and the Executive Director of the Matilda Joslyn Gage Foundation, among others.
Members and the public are also encouraged to attend the Syracuse League’s Annual NYS Legislative Breakfast, with a panel of local State Senators and Representatives in attendance. Or our Annual Meeting in June. See our Calendar and Events page for more information.
