Become a Member of the Observer Corps

In an effort to prepare for the 2026 election and to keep our democracy strong,  the Syracuse Metro League of Women Voters is participating in the statewide Observer Corps.

The Syracuse LWV is currently observing the following:

• Onondaga County Legislature

• Syracuse Common Council

• Syracuse Citizen Review Board

• Syracuse Housing Authority

We also follow the Onondaga County Planning Board on-line, and news for the Onondaga County Board of Elections.

An observer is an individual who attends a governmental meeting, notes what happens at the meeting, and reports back to the League and the community.

Members of the Observer Corps help ensure that citizens are aware of the decisions that impact their lives, and they promote government transparency and accountability.
